Welcome to Gemini Division Files; your authoritative source for the Gemini Division series.
While little is known about this series as of this posting here is what we have been able to determine from the Hollywood trade papers:
Gemini Division is a science fiction / horror series produced by Electric Farm Entertainment and builds on the success of EFE’s previous series Afterworld. Electric Farm (henceforth called EFE for space sake) led by Stan Rogow, Jeff Sagnasky, and Brent Friedman is pioneering the multi-platform project and has just concluded their first successful season for Afterworld which was featured on mobile, cable television, and the web. EFE will also be utilizing their unique method of a multi-platform release and Gemini, like Afterworld, will also feature a unique mix of live action and animation.
On February 11, 2008 Perspective Studios announced that it has partnered with Electric Farms to create the highly stylized look of the series. If you’ve gamed you should already recognize Perspective as a leader in the gaming animation world [GTA IV].
Technical partnerships aside, let’s talk a bit about talent.Rosario Dawson, first voicing the character of NYPD Officer Delondre Baines for Afterworld, has signed on to act and produce for Gemini Division. While there is some contradiction in the information available from sources such as Filmstalker, Mania, and The Hollywood Reporter all agree that Rosario will lead the cast as well as produce.Dawson is no stranger to science fiction having created the Occult Crimes Task Force and having been involved in a plethora of sci-fi projects.
Dawson will star as an undercover New York police Detective that, while investigating the murder of her fiancé, discovers a global conspiracy involving the creation of simulated-humanoid life forms that have assimilated with the unsuspecting public. Also confirmed for the cast is Justin Hartley, best known as The Green Arrow on Smallville, though that’s all we know as of this writing.
The number of episodes is also currently being debated with the Hollywood Reporter stating 100 and other news sources reporting as few as 25.Based on our experience with Afterworld we are forecasting approx. 50-ish.
At least two viral videos have been released and if this EFE Series follows the last we can expect to see some alternate reality websites in conjunction with the series. You can learn more about the virals in the forum…
